Microsoft has announced the launch of Windows App, a new unified application that allows users to access Windows environments from virtually any device. This tool is now available for Windows, macOS, iOS, iPadOS and web browsers, while on Android it is in public preview phase. However, so far, it has not been reported whether it will be compatible with Linux.
With Windows App, users, regardless of the equipment used, can connect to services such as Windows 365, Azure Virtual Desktop, Remote Desktop and Microsoft Dev Box, ... allowing this new tool to access virtualized environments and remote desktops, thus facilitating remote work and resource management from anywhere and on any device.
Among the most notable features of Windows APP are customizable start screens, support for multiple monitors and USB redirection. In addition, it also includes advanced security features, such as multi-factor authentication, to ensure a secure connection.
Windows App is now available for download in the Microsoft Store, Apple App Store and Google Play. It can also be accessed directly through web browsers, meaning you don't need to install additional software to connect.
